Galapagos National Parks and Galapagos Conservancy to search for Lonesome George’s supposedly extinct species

Studies have shown “turtles that contain up to 90% of the species’ extinct genes, meaning that at least one of their parents is a purebred and possibly lives on Wolf Volcano,” said Jorge Carrion, the park’s director.
