Caramel Red-Eared Slider Pond
Anthony shows off his homemade predator and child proof pond and nesting box which houses a pair of Caramel Pink RES. The Sliders are kept outside during the summer months, and are brought in side during the cool months. About the Author
Anthony is the Senior Director of theTurtleRoom and has more than a decade of experience raising and breeding reptiles. Anthony oversees all video and audio media production (including The Pondcast) and provides support to the Executive Director. He also authors a portion of the educational resources for the site and works with other organizations (AZA and TSA) and privately to develop quality, detailed captive breeding programs of carefully selected turtle and tortoise specimens in an effort to meet theTurtleRoom's conservation goals. Anthony has also written a book on the Geoemyda genus as a whole, which will be published by Living Art Publishing as part of their “Turtles of the World” Series, in addition to several articles in magazines such as REPTILES, The BATAGUR, Testudo (Italian), and RADIATA (German). Some of his conservation projects include Vietnamese Black-Breasted Leaf Turtles (Geoemyda spengleri), Spider Tortoises (Pyxis arachnoides arachnoides), and Chinese Yellow-Margined Box Turtles (Cuora flavomarginata), all of which are part of larger conservation efforts, either in AZA SSPs or with the TSA.
